The ACCESS Center

The Mariam Clinic, a member of Volunteers in Medicine and NC Association of Free Clinics, adheres to all policies and methods, and has developed a unique concept for service delivery. The Free Health Clinic functions by the generous efforts of volunteer medical doctors, nurses, lab technicians and other administrative staff.

The Free Health Clinic has many distinct traits, for example the availability of interpreters for 10 different languages and preventive care programs.

The Clinic does not act as a substitute for a primary care physician.

Individuals requiring specialized care or needing long-term services will be given a referral within the local community. Our culturally compassionate and valuable services often result in patients feeling reluctant to use other area providers. Although the Mariam Clinic health providers experience a great deal of satisfaction with this feedback, more extensive treatment may be required.

For persons preferring a physician or service provider of a specific gender, translation services or specific specialty, please indicate your needs while scheduling an appointment. For dental and specialized services, it will be necessary to provide a referral to a local medical provider partnering with the Mariam Clinic or other health providers who may better meet your individual needs.
