Volunteer at the Mariam Clinic

The Mariam Clinic is always in need of volunteers. In particular, we are in need of licensed health professionals. Medical health professionals are covered under the Free Clinics FTCA Medical Malpractice Program whereby payments would be made for any damages awarded as a result of a judgment or settlement. Internship

The Mariam Clinic has teamed up with various departments, in fields ranging from business to social work, at UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, Meredith College and NC State University to sponsor semester-long internships. Anyone who has completed at least three months of volunteer service with the Mariam Clinic is eligible to apply for an internship position. Please contact the Clinic Director for more information.

Shadow Program

We also offer a competitive program for pre-medical students who are interested in shadowing the clinic's physicians on a weekly basis. Anyone who has successfully completed a full-semester internship with the Mariam Clinic is eligible to apply for the shadowing program. Contact the Clinic Director for more information.

As you may know, the Mariam Clinic has made great strides during the past year in making free healthcare more readily available to the uninsured from the Muslim and Non-Muslim community. Hundreds of patients have been provided medical services since the inception of the Mariam Clinic in the Fall of 2007.

None of these milestones could have been accomplished without your sincere and consistent support as donors and volunteers!
